Simulating the Growth of Dual-Phase Boride Layer on AISI M2 Steel by Two Kinetic Approaches

Two kinetic approaches (integral method and Dybkov method) have been applied for simulating the boriding kinetics of AISI M2 steel in range 1173 to 1323 K, by including effect incubation periods. For integral method, a peculiar solution resulting system differential algebraic equations (DAE) has employed assessing diffusivities boron FeB Fe2B. The activation energies Fe2B deduced from both compared with data taken literature.
